Mastering Your Mind Power

The tools needed for mastering your mind power, the power you need to live more of the life you desire, are already readily available in your own mind. The challenge for you is to use these tools to take possession of your mind power and direct it to the ends of your choice.

Your mind is always busy, bringing you what you want and bringing you what you do not want. It brings you poverty and misery or it brings you wealth and happiness. It is never idle. Whether it brings you poverty and misery or wealth and happiness depends on the consistent thoughts you present to it. Accurate thought is a major factor that determines whether your mind delivers more of what you desire or more of what you do not want.

As you are aware, your mind thinks at incredible speeds, moving thousands of thoughts, ideas, and images across the screen of your mind. At one moment you may be focusing on the road ahead of you as you drive to work. In an instant, you are thinking of a very important task at work that has to be completed. In another instant, you are thinking about applying for that job that a friend of yours told you about at her company.

Accurate thinking may not sound like a characteristic that is very important to cultivate on your journey toward mastering your mind power. For me, however, the opposite is true. It so important, in fact, that Napoleon Hill devoted an entire chapter to it in his book, Laws of Success. Accurate thought can be so very helpful to you for choosing meaningful thoughts, ideas, and images to become residents in your mind rather meaningless ones.

There are a few relatively simple steps you can take to aid you in developing the habit of accurate thought. First of all, it is imperative that you have what Napoleon Hill calls a definite major purpose; a goal, as most other self help authors call it; or an intention, as most Law of Attraction authors call it.

Whatever you call it, there must be something that you deeply desire to have, to be, or to do. Second, if you have not already done so, you must develop the ability to separate facts from mere information. Third, you must also develop the ability to separate significant facts from insignificant facts.

All facts which you can use in the attainment of your desires are important and significant facts. All facts that you cannot use are unimportant and therefore insignificant, and mere information is worthless. Information may be entertaining, diversionary, and fodder for gossip but is of no value for mastering your mind power and obtaining your desires.

By forming the habit of directing your attention to significant facts on which you build your road to your desires, you all but ensure your success. This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve./articlesbase
